PM to include thirty one new faces in cabinet

Awami League President Sheikh Hasina is going to form third consecutive government by including thirty one new faces in her cabinet.

A 47-member cabinet, led by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, will take oath of office on Monday following the landslide victory in the 11th national parliamentary polls.

Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam announced the names of new cabinet members at a press briefing  on Sunday, report bdnews24.com and UNB.

"Thirty one new faces will be inducted in the new cabinet to be formed with three technocrat ministers," he said while briefing reporters on Sunday afternoon.

There will be 24 ministers, 19 state ministers and three deputy ministers in the cabinet, he said.

Two existing state ministers are going to be promoted to the position of ministers. Three new faces are also entering the cabinet as deputy ministers.

They will take oath at 3:30pm on Monday at Bangabhaban.

The official gazette over the new cabinet will be published immediately after oath-taking ceremony, he said.

With the publication of the gazette, the outgoing cabinet will be abolished, the cabinet secretary said.
