Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to inaugurate four power plants through video conference at Gonobhaban on Sunday (tomorrow) at 10 am.
The power plants to be inaugurated on Sunday are Shikalbaha 225 MW plant, Chapainawabganj 100-MW plant, Salla 400-kilowatt solar plant and Sharishabari 3-MW solar plant, said a spokesperson of the ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources to state-owned BSS.
The power plants will be inaugurated as a part of the government’s initiative to ensure 100 per cent electricity coverage in the country, said the spokesperson.
The upazilas already brought under 100 per cent electricity coverage are- Faridpur sadar, Rajoir, Naogaon sadar, Kamarkhand, Akhaura, Brahmanbaria sadar, Shalikha, Meherpur sadar, Madon and Belabo.
