PM pays last respect to Mostafa Rashidi Suja

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid last respect to Awami League lawmaker from Khulna-4 constituency SM Mostafa Rashidi Suja by placing wreaths on his coffin at the South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Sunday.

After placing the wreaths, the Prime Minister stood there in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect to the memory of Suja, who was also the general secretary of Khulna district Awami League, reports UNB.

Flanked by senior leaders and parliament members of the party, Sheikh Hasina, also the Awami League president, laid another wreath on the coffin on behalf of the party.

Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury also paid homage to Suja by laying a wreath on Suja's coffin.

Wreaths were also placed on the coffin on behalf of President Abdul Hamid and Leader of the Opposition in Parliament Begum Raushan Ershad.

Earlier, a namaz-e-janaza of Suja was held at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad.

A large number of people, including ministers, MPs, senior leaders of different political parties and officials and employees of the Jatiya Sangsad attended the janaza.

Later, a munajat seeking the eternal peace of the departed soul was offered. The Pesh Imam of the Jatiya Sangsad Mosque conducted the munajat.

Suja, a former Jatiya Sangsad Whip, died at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore on Thursday night.
