PM Hasina pledges justice in killing of two Ramiz Uddin College students in Dhaka road crash

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday promised to bring justice to those responsible for the accident that took the lives of two students of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment School and College.

"This is completely unforgivable because the driver was driving the bus defying all the [traffic] rules, resulting in the loss of two lives…many students were also injured," she said.

The Prime Minister said this while speaking at a programme at Armed Forces Medical College ground after laying the foundation stone of an underpass at a road adjacent to Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment School and College in the city.

Sheikh Hasina said the government will never spare the bus driver involved in the brutal accident. "We must ensure the due punishment to those involved in such accidents; we’ll do that."

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid, Army Chief General Aziz Ahmed and Engineer-in-Chief Major General Md Siddiqur Rahman Sarker also spoke at the programme, UNB reported.

On her arrival at the venue, Army Chief General Aziz Ahmed received the Prime Minister.
