Initiatives have been taken to bring all citizens under the national pension scheme (NPS).
Finance Minister AMA Muhith made the disclosure on Thursday, adding that the government would give an outline of the scheme in the next budget.
"As per commitment, the government is working to ensure universal pension for all," he said.
The minister was speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of the 'Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT)' for the pensioners at his ministry office in the city.
Muhith, according to UNB, also said the government will give an outline of the NPS in the ensuing budget.
He, however, mentioned that the system won’t be implemented immediately.
