A pedestrian was killed as a city-bound train from Chittagong University hit him in Nasirabad area on Saturday afternoon.
The dead man was identified as Shahin Alam, 45, son of Nur Alam, an inhabitant of Nasirabad area.
Zakir Hossain, sub-inspector of Sholoshahor police outpost, said Shahin was critically injured when a DEMU (Diesel Electric Multiple Unit) train hit him at around 3:00pm, reports BSS.
Local people rushed the victim to Chattogram Medical College Hospital where on duty doctors declared him dead, said Alauddin Talukder, sub-inspector of CMCH police outpost.
