The 3.1 million students sitting for their Primary Education Completion and Ebtedayee exams this year will receive their results on Dec 30.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina set aside time on that day to announce the results for the fifth grade primary school completion and equivalent exams, said Primary and Mass Education Ministry spokesperson Rabindranath Roy.

Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman will present a summary of the results to the prime minister at the Ganabhaban at 11am on Dec 30, Roy told on Thursday.

The minister will then present highlights from the results at a press conference that afternoon. Individual results will be available to students afterwards.

Previously, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid had announced that the results for the Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) exams will also be published on Dec 30.

The education ministries had requested time from the prime minister to publish the results, officials said. The results are published according to the prime minister’s schedule.

The primary and mass education ministry had proposed the announcement of the results on Dec 27 or 28, but the prime minister said she would be ready to receive the summary of the results at 11am on Dec 30, as per bdnews24 report.

The PEC and Ebtedayee primary school completion exams were taken by 3,096,075 students at 7,267 exam centres between Nov 19 and Nov 26.
