Passengers facing sufferings at Daulatdia, Patuaria

Passengers are facing immense sufferings as they have to wait at Daulatdia and Patuaria ferry terminals for hours to cross the Padma River due to shortage of ferries.

 

Around 1000 vehicles remain stranded on the both sides of the river for crossing, reports UNB.

 

Ferry services are being hampered on the route for last 2-3days as six ferries out of 19 ferries went out of order.

 

About 4-km tailback was seen on the Paturia side in Manikganj on Friday.

 

Azmal Hossain, DGM of BIWTC ( Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation) in Aricha sector, around 500 goods-laden trucks got stuck at Paturia side and around 200 hundred trucks at Daulatdia side.

 

The pressure of the goods-laden truck is also high on the route as ferrying of truck remained suspended on Shimulia-Kathalbari river route.
