Parliamentary body recommends running textile mills under PPP

The parliamentary standing committee on textiles and jute ministry on Wednesday recommended the government to run different textiles mills under public-private partnership (PPP).

The recommendation came from the 8th meeting of the committee, held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with its chairman Mirza Azam in the chair, reports UNB.

The parliamentary body asked the government for setting up textile engineering colleges in different areas of the country.

The committee also suggested providing dues to BJMC workers in time.

Committee members Textiles and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi, Mouazzam Hossain Ratan, Ranajit Kumar Roy, Md. Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, Shahin Akhtar, Abdul Momin Mondol, Khadizatul Anwar, Tamanna Nesrat Bubly and Mohammad Habib Hasan attended the meeting.

The textiles and jute secretary and other high officials were present at the meeting, said a parliament secretariat handout.
