Over 50 forest robbers to surrender on Wednesday

Over 50 members of six forest robber gangs including their chiefs will surrender with their arms and ammunition on Wednesday.

They will surrender at a ceremony at Rapid Action Battalion-6 office in Labanchhora of Khulna district.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan will present at the ceremony, reports UNB.

The members of Rajon Bahini alias Dada Bhai, Amir Ali Bahini, Hannan Bahini, Munna Bahini, Choto Samsu Bahini and Surya Bahini will surrender to the Home Minister in the morning.

Khandaker Rafiqul Islam, commanding officer of Rab-6, said the robbers' gangs with a number of firearms and several hundred of bullets will be surrendering on Wednesday.

Some 58 forest robbers will be provided with proper assistance for their rehabilitation.

Earlier, On April 1, twenty seven members of three forest robber gangs surrendered to Home Minister along with their arms and ammunition at Swadhinata Uddyan in the district town.
