Outgoing Air chief, new Air chief call on Prime Minister

Both outgoing Air chief Marshal Abu Esrar and newly appointed chief Air Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her Jatiya Sangsad office on Wednesday.

The prime minister congratulated the newly appointed Air chief and appreciated the outgoing Air chief for his service to the country’s air force, PM's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said after the meeting.

The new Air chief will take over the command of the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) on June 12 next for three years, reports UNB.

The outgoing Air chief expressed his gratitude to the prime minister for the cooperation extended by her and her government in discharging his duty during his tenure.

Mentioning the government's attitude for developing the Bangladesh Air Force, Sheikh Hasina stressed the need for making a strong air force in the country.

She hoped that the Air force will get stronger under the leadership of the new Air chief.
