Officials asked to make land office a place of trust

Newly-appointed land secretary Md Mustafizur Rahman has urged the officials of his ministry to bring down the suffering of the people coming to take land-related services.

"I call upon you (officials) to make the land office a place of trust for the people," he said while addressing a meeting with the officials at the conference room of the Ministry of Land (MoL) on Wednesday.

Modernisation, digitisation and transformation of land services came for discussion at the meeting.

The secretary called upon the officials to work together to reduce the suffering of the service recipients at the land offices.

After dividing the officials present into different teams, he directed them to work for quick solution to various problems existing in the land sector, modernisation of human resource management in the sector, and reducing public sufferings in buying and selling of properties.

Md Doulutuzzaman Khan, chief of Land Services Digitisation Monitoring Cell, which is under the MoL, said digital land services including e-mutation system, land service hotline (16122) and grievance redress system, online land development tax system, mobile app, inheritance calculator, e-book of land ministry, digital record room service and online settlement system have been introduced to reduce sufferings of the people.

He said the land management and case management systems are ready for piloting. All additional secretaries of the MoL were present at the event.
