Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has started a meeting with 20 representatives of the protesters, who are demanding quota reform in government jobs, at secretariat.
According to bdnews24.com, the meeting was started around 4.30pm on Monday at conference room of road transport and bridges ministry.
Awami League leaders Mahbubul Alam Hanif, Jahangir Kabir Nanok, AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Enamul Haque Shamim and Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury have joined the meeting.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia also joined the meeting.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina directed the Ministry of Public Administration submit an explanation after reviewing existing quota system.
The Prime Minister gave the direction at Monday's cabinet meeting, several television said quoting Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam.
