Noakhali Senior Magistrate of No-2 Cognigence Court Judge Nabonita Guha passed the order when police produced them before the court with a seven-day remand prayer, said Ibrahim Khalil, sub-inspector of Char Jabbar Police Station and also the investigation officer of the case, reports UNB.
Those remanded are Badshah Alam Basu, ex-AL leader Ruhul Amin, Jashim Uddin, Hasan Ali Bhulu, Sohel, Swapan and Bechu.
Ruhul Amin, AL upazila unit publicity affairs secretary and a former union council member, was expelled from the ruling party on January 5 for his alleged involvement in the gang rape.
The woman, a mother of four, was raped at Charjubli village in the upazila on December 31 by a gang of 10-12 men allegedly being ordered by Ruhul Amin, after the general election.
Later, doctors treating the woman have found evidence of gang rape.
