The written statement from the BCL allies was read by JSD-backed Chhatra League President Shamsul Islam Sumon on the campus on Saturday.

He called for the release of the report within 24 hours, discussions with student organisations on the report and punishment to the perpetrators.

The group also called for swift solutions to issues tied to the students from Dhaka University’s seven affiliate colleges.

Bdnews24 Students from Dhaka University had organised protests demanding the administration end the affiliation with the seven colleges.

On Jan 15, the BCL attacked protesters who obstructed the vice chancellor’s offices. The clashes led to ome vandalism of the offices.

On Feb 23, leftist students obstructed Vice Chancellor Prof Akhtaruzzaman and were again attacked by the BCL.

The BCL-allied groups rejected the notion that the Awami League’s student wing had been involved in the attacks, stating the perpetrators were members of the ‘general student body’.
