NGOs for relocating Rohingys to save ecosystem

Local Non Government Organisations (NGO) and voluntary groups Thursday suggested immediate relocation of Rohingyas saying it would damage the ecosystem and tourism in the district.

Cox's Bazar's Civil Society Organizations-NGO Forum (CCNF) made the suggestion at a press conference in the capital also seeking enhanced UNHCR involvement in handling the crisis and Rohingyas relocation, reports BSS.

Rezaul Karim Chowdhury of COAST, Aminur Rasul Babul from Unnayan Dhara and Moqbul from COAST spoke at the press conference while the forum placed a 41-point demand also seeking direct government intervention in relief operations and enhanced UN and foreign aid agencies involvement in tackling the crisis.

They also called for sustained political campaign to expose the Myanmar government and army to international justice system for their crimes against humanity.
