A sub-inspector of Araihazar Police Station in Narayanganj was closed to the district Police Lines on Friday night for freeing three drug traders in exchange of bribe.
The closed policeman is SI Rakib, who was posted at Gopaldi Police Investigation Centre, reports UNB.
Shariful Islam, inspector (investigation) of Araihazar Police Station, confirmed the media about the action.
He said the action was taken against Rakib for freeing three drug traders in exchange of Tk 110,000 after their arrest.
They were arrested along with 460 bottles Phensidyle at Biswanandi Ferryghat on Thursday night.
