Law Minister Anisul Huq on Monday said that new appointments will be made in the post of deputy attorney general (DAG) and new faces will be given priority in this.
“I had asked the law officials who have been observing duties as deputy attorney generals since 2009. Following that, I have so far received resignation letters of 87. Appointment against these vacant posts will be made soon and new faces will be given priority in this regard,” he said.
The minister came up with the statement while addressing the inaugural function of 142nd refresher training course for joint-district and session judges and equivalent officials at Judicial Administration Training Institute (JATI) in Dhaka, reports BSS.
Presided over by JATI Director General Justice Khondker Musa Khaled, the inaugural function was also addressed by Law and Justice Division Secretary Abu Saleh Sheikh Md Zahirul Haque.
While talking about trial over Holey Artisan militant attack case, the law minister said the court will decide how many witnesses its needed to examine for proving the case.
“Prosecution wants to end the trial soon and the learned court perhaps also will realize the fact. I don’t want to say any other thing about this trial as I don’t want to talk about sub-judice matter. I just want to tell trial over different sensational crimes shall not go beyond the justice and exemplary punishment has to be ensured quickly and we would give attention to this,” he added.
Meanwhile, the minister today handed over keys of cars among 62 additional district and session judges.
