Nat’l Fisheries Week begins on July 18

The National Fisheries Week-2018 will be held in the country from July 18 to July 24 across the country.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the week on July 19 by releasing fish fry at the lake of Ganobhaban.

The disclosure was made at a co-ordinated meeting held at the ministry on Tuesday.

A rally will be brought out from the Matsya Bhaban around 8:00am on July 18 and Fisheries and Livestock Minister Narayan Chandra Chanda will brief reporters around 11:00am.

Besides, a five-day and three-day fish fair will be held at Mymensingh Fisheries Research Institute and its five epicentres on July 20 respectively, reports UNB.

President Abdul Hamid and Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury will release fish fries from Bangabhavan and Jatiya Sangshad on July 21 and July 22 respectively.

Besides, a seminar on 'Bangladesh Fisheries and Aquaculture: Potentials and Challenges for Development and Exports/Blue Economy' will be held in Mymensingh on July 23.

On the concluding day, the Fisheries and Livestock Minister Narayan Chandra Chanda will provide the National Fisheries Award-18 among the persons and institutions at Krishibid Institution.
