Divers have pulled five dead bodies out of the Shitalakshya River after a launch capsized with more than 50 people onboard on Sunday afternoon.
Md. Shahjahan Shikdar, a fire service media cell official, said they have recovered the bodies of a 2-year-old baby boy, a 10-year-old girl, a 17-year-old girl and a 27-year-old woman from the spot.
Besides, some local people also recovered the body of a 50-year-old man identified as one Joynal, he said.
Some 50 to 60 passengers were on board at the launch while some 20-25 people went missing, he stated.
The launch has been identified as ML Afsar Uddin, Shikdar said.
