Mymensing’s rail link with Jamalpur snaps

The rail communication between Mymensingh and Jamalpur was disrupted on Saturday morning as two bogies of an oil laden train derailed at Bidyaganj Railway Station in the district.

Jamalpur Railway Station master Shamsul Alam said the wheels of an engine and two compartments of a Jamalpur bound train from Mymensingh veered off the track at around 8:00 am, disrupting rail communication on the route.

A UNB report says,the derailment halted journey of at least 6 trains including three inter-city trains.
No causalities were reported.

"A salvage train from Mymensing is carrying out rescue operation, which may take time", he said.
