Myanmar has proposed the repatriation of Rohingya refugees accepting Bangladesh's proposal to form a joint working group soon to start the overall process bilaterally.

Foreign minister Mahmood Ali disclosed this to media persons after nearly two hours of meeting with Myanmar minister Kyaw Tint Swe at the state guest house Padma in capital Dhaka.

The foreign minister said Bangladesh also proposed to sign a bilateral agreement and handed over a proposal to Myanmar.

Mahmood Ali said the home minister will soon visit Myanmar to talk about border security cooperation as well.

He, however, would not say about the number of Rohingya repatriation but said the joint working group will discuss all these issues. "Both sides want to resolve the problem peacefully.”
