A woman and her son were crushed under a train in Gorasin area under Sadar upazila in Tangail on Thursday.
The deceased were identified as Brishti Akhter, 23, wife of Saudi Arabia expatriate Shahin Mian and her three-year old son Rahat, residents of Namdarkumilli village of the upazila.
Local UP member Abdul Zabbar said Brishti along with her son went out of her father's house around 8:30am. They were crushed under Dhaka-bound Silk-city express train around 12:00pm, said Jalal Uddin, Tangail Railway Station Master.
Brishti's neighbours said that she was mentally challenged while some others said that she jumped under the train along with son following a feud with her in-laws, reports UNB.
