Police recovered the floating body of an old man from the Padma River in Charalatuli-Horma area of Sadar upazila on Friday afternoon, 21 days after he had gone missing.
Locals spotted the decomposed body of Akbar Ali, 62, son of Nurul Haque, a resident of Charalatuli Raninagar village and informed the police, said Idris Ali, officer-in-charge (operation) of Sadar Police Station.
Later, police recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital for autopsy, reports UNB.
Earlier, a general diary was filed after Akbar had gone missing on March 31.
