Miscreants torched an election campaign office of Awami League (AL) candidate for Meherpur-2 constituency at Bholadanga village in Gangni upazila early Thursday.
Harendranath Sarker, officer-in-charge of Gangni Police Station, said Abu Bakar, owner of a grocery shop near the campaign office, spotted the fire at dead of night and started to scream.
Hearing his screams, locals rushed in and doused the fire, as per a UNB report.
On information, police visited the spot.
