Unidentified miscreants gunned down UPDF central leader Mithun Chakma in Khagracchari’s Sadar Upazila.
He was shot in the sluice gate area around 12pm on Wednesday, said Sadar Police Station OC Tarek Mahmud Abdul Hannan.
Locals rushed him to Khagracchari Sadar Hospital, where the doctors declared him dead.
Police were deployed in the area after signs of unrest following the murder.
UPDF Information and Publicity Secretary Bijon Chakma said that Mithun was abducted from his home in Aparna Chowdhurypara on Wednesday morning.
He could not ascertain the cause of murder.
Police are investigating the situation, said bdnews 24 citing OC Tarek Mahmud.
