Condemning the killing of freedom fighter Abdul Matin in Trishal upazila of Mymensingh, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque on Thursday ordered police to take immediate action to arrest the killers.
In a condolence massage, the minister said, "Killing of the people whose courage made the country independent will never be tolerated ."
He talked to Mymensingh Police Superintendent Syed Nurul Islam about the murder and directed him to investigate into it and take proper steps in this regard.
The Minister conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members and prayer for salvation of the departed soul, reports UNB.
Police recovered the throat-slit body of Abdul Matin alias Matin Master, 69, president of Mathbari union unit Awami League and a freedom fighter, at Khaghati village in Trishal upazila on Wednesday.
