Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) in Dhaka on Wednesday issued warning for river ports of 16 districts in the country wherein river ports should hoist riverine warning signal number two.
The inland river port warning has been issued for Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogura, Dhaka, Tangail, Mymensingh, Faridpur, Jashore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram and Sylhet, according to a BMD statement, reports BSS.
Rain or thundershowers accompanied with temporary West or North-Westerly gusty or squally wind speed 60-80 kph is likely to occur in many places over the country in the next 12 hours commencing 6 pm Wednesday, it added.
