Mercury declines in city on Thursday: Met Office

Mercury declined in the city on Thursday amid drizzling with a steady wind. 

Though rainfall was recorded as only 2.00 mm until 6:00 pm on the day, a 15-21 kph steady wind kept the maximum temperature of the city within 28.2 degree Celcius on the day.

It is the coolest temperature in the city since third week of July last, said the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (Met Office).

Minimum temperature of the city was recorded as 25.5 degree on Thursday.

The city air had also a higher presence of humidity ranging from 97 per cent in the day time to 70 per cent in the evening.

Highest rain of the country was recorded in Teknaf on the day as 143 mm.

The country's highest temperature was recorded as 34 degree both in Rangpur and Sylhet and lowest as 23.1 degree in Dighinala on the day.

Met Office forecasted for light to moderate rain in most places over coastal divisions including Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram in next twenty four hours.

Rain might also occur in many places over Rajshahi, Sylhet and Dhaka divisions in next one day starting from Thursday 6.00 pm.

Only a few places in Mymensingh and Rangpur divisions could also experience rain during the period, said Met Office.

Day and night temperature might remain static in next twenty four hours across the country.

Sunrise is likely to be at 5:37am and Sunset at 6: 27 pm on Friday in Dhaka, said Met Office.
