Menon undergoes successful surgery

Social Welfare Minister Rashed Khan Menon, who was hospitalised on Thursday following a hip joint injury, underwent a successful surgery at a city hospital on Tuesday.

The surgery was conducted in between 10:00am to 12:00 noon at Square Hospital in the city and the minister is now doing well, said a handout of PID.

He also sought blessings from all for his early recovery, it said.

Menon sustained injuries in his 'hip-joint' as he fell down during morning walk in front of his residence at Minto Road in the city around 7:00am on July 5, said an official release of the Social Welfare Ministry.

Immediately after the incident, the minister was rushed to Square Hospital, reports UNB.
