A massive fire broke out at a multistoried building in the Khilkhet area of Dhaka on Thursday evening.
The fire originated from the 9th floor of the 14-storey building at around 7:0 pm on the day, according to fire service officials.
Eight firefighting units were working to douse the flame until the filing of the report at around 8:30 pm.
No major injuries or casualties and the extent of damages could be known immediately, the official added.
Rozina Akhter, the officer in charge of the control room of the fire service, confirmed this information to the FE. She, however, could not immediately tell the cause of the fire.
The fire caught at the City Dental College and Hospital at the building, she added.
The fire is still not under control. Fire service personnel are working to control the fire, said the fire service.
