A court in Chapainawabganj on Tuesday sentenced a man to death for killing his elder brother in Gomostapur upazila in 2016.
The convicted man is Shafiul Islam, 32, son of Hadisul Islam, a resident of Rohonpur Nungola village.
According to the prosecution, Shafiul hacked his brother Shahidul Islam, a corporal of Bangladesh Army of Bogra Cantonment, to death with a sharp weapon over a family feud on May 26, 2016.
Later, victim's wife Yeasmin Jannat filed a case with Gomostapur Police Station accusing Shafiul, reports UNB.
After examining all the records and witnesses, additional district and sessions judge Md Ziaur Rahman handed down the verdict.
