A young man was stabbed to death at Chadpur village in Jhenaidah’s Harinakundu upazila on Monday night over a trifling matter.
The victim was identified as Aslam Mandal, 20, son of Aynal Mandal of Hakimpur village.
Md Hasanuzzaman, superintendent of Jhenaidah Police, said that Aslam along with his nephew Raja Malitha went to a village fair at Chadpur.
While playing lottery, Raja locked into an altercation with a young man named Abu Sayed at around 9:30pm, reports UNB.
As situation worsened, Sayed stabbed Raja with a sharp weapon. At one point, Raja's uncle Aslam came to obstruct Sayed, who also got stabbed by Sayed.
The two injured were taken to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital where doctors declared Aslam dead.
