Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Sunday arrested a man carrying seven gold bars after searching a Cox’s Bazar-bound bus at Haikong checkpost in Teknaf upazila of the district.
The arrestee was identified as Abdul Gani, 46, son of Siddik Ahmed, reports UNB citing a press release.
BGB men caught the man after raiding a special service bus of Palki Paribahan at 8:10 am.
The gold bars were concealed inside his belt, and valued at Tk 6.50 million.
A case has been filed over the matter.
