Customs officials arrested a man along with foreign currencies equivalent to Tk 2.2 million at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Sunday night, Prothom Alo reports.
Habibur Rahman, 43, was then handed over to Airport Police Station, said Sajeeb Sarkar, a sub-inspector at the station.
A case has been filed against him under Special Powers Act, he added.
Investigation Officer Saiful Islam, also a sub-inspector at the same police station, said investigations into the case are now on.
