Customs officials arrested a man along with 10 gold bars at Shah Amanat International Airport in the port city on Wednesday morning.
The arrestee is Ramjan Ali, hailing from Fatikchari upazila.
Wing commander Sarwar-e-Jaman, manager of the airport, said Ramjan arrived here by a flight of Air Arabia from Sarzah of United Arab Emirates (UAE) around 9:30 am.
Customs officials detained Ramjan due to his suspicious movement and detected presence of gold bars inside his stomach through an X-ray, reports UNB.
Later, the gold weighing 1.17 kg was recovered from his stomach.
