Slow vehicular movement caused by potholes created a 15-kilometre long tailback on Dhaka-Tangail highway in Elenga area since Friday midnight.

Police said potholes were created as construction works have been going on the highway at Elenga in Kalihati upazila, making the journey difficult mainly for north-bound passengers.

As a result of slow vehicular movement, hundreds of vehicles remained stuck on the highway around a 15-kilometre stretch from Elenga to Korotia in Tangail, causing sufferings to passengers amid cold weather , as per UNB agency.

However, traffic police were trying to ease the congestion, the SI added.
