Two people including a woman were killed by two separate lightning strikes in Badarganj upazila in Rangpur on Thursday.
The deceased were identified as Aysha Khatun, 50, of Shahpur Masterpara village in Badarganj municipality area and Alamgir Hossain, 24, son of Samsul Haque of village Rahmatpur in Ramnatpur union of the same upazila.
Officer-in-Charge of Badarganj police station Anisur Rahman said Aysha died after being struck by the thunderbolt around 12 am while she was bringing back her cattle from pasture.
In another incident, Alamgir was killed by lightning while he was taking a bath in the pond near his house in the afternoon, reports UNB.
