Lightning kills farmer in Tangail

A farmer was killed as a thunderbolt hit him at Charpakulla under Sadar Upazila in Tangail on Saturday noon.
The deceased was identified as Zulu Mia, 55, son of Year Ali of the village.
Locals said the lightning struck Zulu around 1:30pm while he was working at a paddy field near his house at the village during storm, leaving him severely injured.
Zulu died on his way to the hospital, said Sayedur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Tangail Sadar Police Station, reports UNB.
