Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind and lightning flashes is likely to occur at some places across the country in the next 24-hour ending 9 am Friday.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lightning flashes is likely to occur at some places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions,” said a Met bulletin issued on Thursday morning.
One or two places over Rajshahi, Rangpur and Mymensingh divisions may see light to moderate rain and moderately heavy to heavy falls in the next 24-hour commencing 9 am today, the bulletin said.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
Monsoon is less active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay while a low is likely to form over North Bay during next 24-hour.
“The trough of monsoon axis may run through Rajasthan, Hariyana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, thence north-eastwards to Assam across Gangetic West Bengal and Central part of Bangladesh.,” the bulletin said, adding that one of its associated troughs extends to Northeast Bay.
The maximum temperature was recorded 36.2 degrees Celsius Wednesday at Rajshahi while today’s minimum temperature 24.5 degrees Celsius at Ragamati in Chattogram division.
The highest rainfall in the last 24-hour as of 6 am today was recorded 37 mm at Teknaf in Chattogram division, said a BSS report.
