Light to moderate rain likely to drench parts of Bangladesh

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lightning flashes is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy falls at isolated places over the country, BSS reports.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, said a Met Office release forecasting weather for the next twenty four hours started from 9am on Friday.

The Low over West central Bay and adjoining Andhra coast now lies over South coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining area. The axis of monsoon trough runs through Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.

Country's maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded by 34.6 degree celsius at Sandwip and minimum temperature today was recorded by 24.0 degree Celsius jointly at Nikli, Tetulia and Bhola. Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am today was recorded by 43 millimeters (mm) at Dinajpur.
