Light to moderate rain likely over Bangladesh

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in seven divisions across the country in the next 24 hours starting at 9am on Friday, according to a Met office bulletin.

The 24-hour bulletin, prepared by Bangladesh Meteorological Department( BMD) said, “Light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal & Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Chattogram division with moderately heavy falls at places over the country”.

However, in its next 72-hour outlook, it said rainfall activity may decrease at the end period.

Bangladesh’s lowest temperature, 11. 2 degree Celsius, was recorded at Tetulia, northern part of the country.

The lowest temperature, 18.2 degree Celsius, was recorded in Dhaka, the BMD forecast also stated.

Light to moderate fog may occur over the country from midnight to morning, it said.

Night temperature may remain nearly unchanged and day temperature may fall by (2-3)°C over the country, according to the forecast.

Trough of Westerly low extends up to Western part of Bangladesh and adjoining North Bay, it said, adding that seasonal low lies over South Bay.
