Launch and speedboat services have resumed on the Shimulia-Majhikandi route after a suspension of two months following the inauguration of the multipurpose Padma Bridge.
Launch MV Ealitch left Shimulia Ghat for Majirkandi at around 10:15 am and ML Masud Khan left Majirkandi at around 9:45 am.
However, the launches experienced a shortage of passengers, reports BSS.
Assistant Director of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority Md Shahadat Hossain said as many as 30 launches and 40 speedboats today started their operation on the route.
