'Land offices to come under CCTV camera surveillance'

Land offices across the country will be brought under the surveillance of closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras to ensure corruption-free land services.

Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury gave the information on Sunday while inaugurating the cabin-pickup transfer programme by handing over the vehicle keys to five of the AC Lands, reports BSS.

“CCTV cameras will be installed at all the land offices across the country to ensure corruption-free service…. The DPP (Development Project Proposal) is underway to install CCTV cameras across the country’s land office,” he said.

The cabin-pickups will be provided to all upazila land offices in the country in phases as the vehicle can bring a qualitative change at the field level, said the minister.

The minister also directed AC Lands to record the official logbook of vehicle properly.

Additional secretaries of the ministry, joint secretary and deputy secretary of the field administration branch were present, among others.
