Golam Rasul, a retired staff of Kushtia General Hospital and a resident of East Majampur in Kushita municipality, was extremely surprised when police came to his house to put it under lockdown saying that he had tested positive for Covid-19.

Rasul said he did not provide his sample for coronavirus test as he had developed no symptoms of the respiratory disease, reports UNB.

According to the local administration sources, Golam Rasul’s name has been enlisted in the list of Covid-19 patients provided by the authorities of PCR Lab of Kushtia Medical College.

Rasul said he had no fever, cold or cough but he went to the hospital for coronavirus test fearing that he might have got infected with the virus as he often visits local markets. However, he returned home without providing any sample due to long queues.

Nurunnahar Begum, supervisor of Kushtia General Hospital, said someone instead of Rasul might have provided the samples.

However, the health authorities are looking for the man who provided samples instead of Rasul.
