Kushita doctor dies of Covid-19

A doctor, who was infected with Covid-19, died at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in Dhaka early Friday.

The deceased was identified as Dr SM Nur Uddin Abu Al Baki Rumi, 48, assistant Prof of Kushtia Medical College (surgery department) and resident of Mujibnagar in Meherpur, reports UNB.

Dr Tapash Kumar Sarkar, resident medical officer of Kushtia General Hospital, said Dr Nur Uddin had tested positive for coronavirus on July 3.

Later, he was taken to BSMMU that day as he has been suffering from diabetes.

Dr Nur breathed his last around 3:00 am.

Bangladesh on Friday reported 3,034 new cases of coronavirus, raising the national tally to 1,99,357. The country also counted deaths of 51people, bringing the total death to 2,547.
