KSA keen to be BD’s development partner: Crown Prince

Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud said Saudi Arabia is keen to be part of the ongoing development of Bangladesh by investing in its different sectors.

"Bangladesh marked huge development. We want to be part of that development," said Muhammad bin Salman, also the Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister of Saudi Arabia, during a meeting with Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday evening.

The 30-minute meeting was held at the Royal Palace in Riyadh.

Foreign Secretary Md Shahidul Haque briefed the press about the meeting, reports UNB.

Mentioning that a very good collaboration in defence sector continues between the two countries, the Saudi Crown Prince hoped that the collaboration will continue and it will be strengthened further.

Muhammad bin Salman focused two sectors - trade and investment as well as defence.

He instructed the authorities concerned to visit Bangladesh to find out the sectors for investment.

"Saudi Arabia now invests in different countries of the world. So, we will do so in Bangladesh as well," Shahidul quoted the Saudi crown prince as saying.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed her expectation that a large Saudi business delegation will visit Bangladesh soon.

Talking about Muslim Ummah, she said the unity among the Muslim world is very essential so that they don't engage in fighting against each other.

In reply, Muhammad bin Salman supported her views saying that he wants peace and happiness will remain in the Muslim world.

Sheikh Hasina invited him to visit Bangladesh and the Crown Prince accepted it.

The Foreign Secretary said the discussion was held in a cordial environment.
