KMP to launch ‘Beat Policing’ Thursday

With a view to curbing crimes, Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) will launch ‘Beat Policing' system on Thursday at 31 wards under eight police stations in the city.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Javed Patwary will inaugurate the 'Beat Policing' at Police lines in the afternoon.

Deputy Police Commissioner (DC-South) of KMP Aref Ahmed on Thursday said this is a new concept to the people, but it is a realistic and dynamic decision of Bangladesh Police.

Earlier, KMP authority has introduced "Speedy Patrol Police' in the city for curbing crimes especially, snatching, drug peddling and movement of illegal vehicles, reports BSS.
