A baby girl drowned in a pond at Singra village in Puthia upazila of Rajshahi on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Rokeya Khatun, a one-year-old daughter of Nasir Uddin of the village.
Shakil Uddin Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Puthia Police Station, said Rokeya was playing near the pond in the afternoon and slipped into the pond, UNB reports.
Later, her body was found floating in the pond.
An unnatural death case was filed.
