Kazi Shahnewaz, president of Bangladesh Frozen Fish Exporters Association (BFFEA), passed away at his Natun Bazar residence in Khulna city on Friday night. He was 72.
Shahnewaz, also a freedom fighter, fell sick last night and died on the way to Khulna Medical College Hospital around 12 am, according to his family members.
Shahnewaz received a number of awards for his contributions to the country's shrimp business sector, UNB reports.
His namaz-e-janaza will be held at Alia Madrasah maidan after Asr prayers.
He will be buried at Tutpara graveyard in the city.
